Last night Zach and I had a very serious talk about me pursuing my dreams :) and so we decided that I should submit some of my photographs to some magazines, and work on getting my stuff out there :) I have to admit, I am super nervous about this :P My photographs are a part of me, the way that I express myself, and so I'm kind of apprehensive about sending it to people I don't know , where it might be rejected, and allowing myself to be vulnerable But I'm going to do it! :)

Zach helped me to see what it was that everyone saw in my photos, and also to help me realize why I am taking those pictures. I didn't realize it until last night. Silly me :P No wonder I felt stuck :P lololol.

Well. so we'll see where this goes! Please think good thoughts for me :) Oh! and also if you happens to know of any magazines you think I could submit my photos to, please let me know :D  Not sure what it is yet, but picture of the week should be up by tomorrow :)

At the beginning of the week Zach and I got to visit with some of our very good friends :) We had a good time shopping and going to museums and galleries downtown. Lots and lots of walking :D Unfortunately, they were only here for a few days, but we had a good time :) We'll see them again in a few weeks though :)

Yesterday I played around in my art room. I thought that I had only been in there for about an hour, but then I got a call from Zach saying he was on his way home from work. What????? it's been  4 HOURS I've been working on stuff????? Yep, 4 HOURS playing with photos, paint, and clay. Hee hee hee :) So here's what I got finished yesterday, and want to share with you all. I've been working on this one for a little while. It has taken me a bit to get all of the materials together :P

He's my "Sea Dragon" hahaha, get it? Sea dragon? :) I thought that it was cute that sea horses are sometimes called sea dragons, and so this idea sparked in my head :) The picture doesn't show it well, but this is all displayed in a shadow box. Goodness, this project has taken me quite a long time. I think I have actually been working on it since a little after we moved here :P I love it though, and it is now being displayed in our guest bathroom :)

The second piece I worked on yesterday was another piece that I have been working on for about 2 weeks. I wanted to find a way to combine my photography and paintings, so this is how this painting came about :)

Umm, for some reason the website keeps changing the coloring of the photograph when I enlarge it :( So just imagine this a tad darker, with the blues more blue and the greens more green :P lolololol.

Anywho, here is some detail of the bird. This is one of the birds who comes and visits our balcony :)

Hmm, it did the same thing with the color again :( Oh well :P I'm not sure what I am going to do with the painting, I think I may get a frame for it and hang it in our living room :)

Well, that's what I have been up to. I think I may already have my picture of the week, but I'm not sure, so I am going to wait till tomorrow or saturday to post it :) So stay tuned for that :)

Since I played with art yesterday, today is cleaning day. So off I go!

Wow, it's been a little while since I have updated here :P Let's see, what have I been up to?

Well, in the photography world quite a bit actually! Last week my husband got me a film camera which I absolutely LOVE :D In no time I had shot my first roll of film on it, and so we went to develop it :) I am pretty happy how the pictures turned out. It was funny when we went to get the film developed. I kept telling my husband "now I'll know if I actually know what I am doing, or if I have just been cruising along on digital not knowing anything manual" :P lololol. Well, we both agreed that I knew what I was doing :)

Art wise, I've been working on quite a bit as well. Earlier this week, I went downtown with the kid that I have been watching for the summer. I took him to a few art galleries and studios. I think that he had a good time :) I know that I had a blast! It was really neat to get to talk to some local artists and to visit their studios :) I don't know what it is, but seeing other people's creative spaces is inspiring to me.

The past two days I've been feeling yucky though :P Tuesday I lived on the couch, Wednesday in bed :P My husband was super sweet though, and helped me to feel a lot better :) I'm still feeling cruddy today, but not nearly as bad as the past days :) So due to that, I'm going to go down the street, and go treat myself to a new haircut :D I want to have my hair at a manageable length again because right now it's a tad too long for the summertime :P

Well, that's about it on the update. I need to go and get cleaning because Zach and I have some good friends coming to visit this weekend, and the house is a bit messy, and we are quickly running out of clean clothes :P  So off to do that! The picture of the week should be up by tomorrow :)

I have started some new art projects. Another clay figurine, and now a collage/painting. I wanted to combine my photography with my art, and I think I found a really neat way to do that :) When I am finished with it, I'll post it up here. I have a couple of other projects to finish first :P (My husband told me only 3 projects at a time! Before I start on another one hee hee hee) If this post sounds choppy, and like a 5 year old wrote it; please forgive me! I am super sleepy this morning, and just can't seem to wake up :P lolol.

Last Thursday my husband came home from work, and told me he wanted to take me out on a date :D He had even bought me some very colorful daisies that make the whole room look cheerful :) I got changed, and then we went out to eat dinner at a nice restaurant, and then decided that we wanted to see "The Last Airbender". We were standing in line for about 10 minutes before they yelled "Last Airbender is sold out!" Phooey :P So we left, went to a bookstore around the corner where it was quite exciting, just because that side of town that it is on is CRAZY! Lololol. You are always bound to run into the most crazy of people :P

Friday was reserved for boring adult stuff :P Like getting groceries and going to the social security office. But we still had a good time, and got A LOT done! :) We decided to try for seeing "The Last Airbender" again. We made sure that we would get tickets by purchasing them online this time. Unfortunately, the movie was not very good :( My husband and I are huge fans of the show. We actually own all of the episodes, and marathon them from time to time :P lolololol.  The movie was just horrible though, and so we left quite disappointed :P

Saturday we relaxed at home. Zach played his video game (which will seriously make you want to throw up :( It's gross :P lololol.) while I painted and worked on some projects :)

Sunday we decided to go to South of the Border...which was another bummer (besides the reptile zoo) but, we did meet the CUTEST little kid, who was just so excited to be there! So cute! After SotB we were driving back home, when we saw a sign for a Botanical Garden :) We stopped off at the gardens for a little bit and walked around. It was very pretty! We even got to see a wild deer and hawk! I was not quick enough with my camera to catch them, but sometimes there are moments that are not meant to be captured on film, and I think this was one of them. After the gardens we drove further to a place that we had seen advertised alongside the road. Unfortunately it was another bummer :( but the car ride there was fun :) We decided to visit one last place that had been on our list which was only a few miles away. A historical town that is FILLED with antique shops. Once again, a bummer :( The town had closed early that day in order to celebrate the holiday :P Oh well. lololol.

It was a fun weekend traveling with my husband :) I took a TON of pictures, some of which will end up here, and others who will probably fade away into the abyss of my computer :P hee hee hee

Wow! That must have been the longest post ever! Apparently I am quite chatty when I am sleepy :P hee hee hee. That's been what I have been up to though :) I hope that you all had a great holiday weekend :)
